INAUGURAL YEAR.

After 1,185 days from the program’s announcement to our first draw, USF Lacrosse officially took the field—and made history. We went 13-5, finishing as AAC regular-season and tournament runner-up, with the second-most wins ever by an NCAA inaugural women’s lacrosse program. Over 10,000 fans packed Corbett Stadium throughout the season, helping us rank top 5 in the country in attendance.

We built our team from the ground up—28 of our 40 players were freshmen or redshirt freshmen. Despite our youth, we earned five All-Conference honors, four All-Tournament nods, and ranked in the NCAA top 15 in several key stats, including scoring offense and shots per game.

Some standout moments included:

  • Our debut win in front of a record-setting crowd of 2,386 fans

  • Six straight wins in March, including our first AAC victory over Temple

  • Coach Mindy McCord earning her 250th career win

  • A dramatic AAC semifinal win over ECU behind two clutch goals from freshman Bailey Morris

Beyond the stats, we built something bigger—a culture of connection, accountability, and belief. From Olympic Teams to team bonding trips to post-practice jams in the locker room, we showed up for each other in every way. Team 1 will always be special. We didn’t just make history—we laid the foundation for what’s next.
