Welcome Juliana to Sofia's Squad!
In one of my recent posts, I talked about there being a lot of “firsts” in this journey. But the most special first happened on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, when Juliana Bartz became the very first athlete to officially join Sofia’s Squad.
Juliana, a 2026 commit to Furman University, embodies everything this community is about. Quick sidenote—Furman head coach Gail Wallach is doing an incredible job. In her first season, she led the team to a co-conference championship, and Lily Toole—daughter of my shooting coach, Dan Toole—shined as Conference Freshman of the Year. The program is on the rise, and I couldn’t be more excited for Juliana to be part of it.
I’ve known Juliana for a while, and this summer I had the chance to train with her a few times. What stands out most is her understanding of what it really means to put in the work. She knows that success comes from aligning your actions with your goals—and then showing up every day to do the hard things.
There will be more shared soon about Juliana’s story, but today I simply want to express my gratitude. Thank you, Juliana, for trusting in me, in this process, and in the vision of Sofia’s Squad. I couldn’t have asked for a more inspiring first member, and I’m excited to watch not just your growth, but the growth of this entire community.
With you always,
Sofia
