From “Have To” to “Get To”

Gratitude isn’t just a feeling—it’s a way of seeing the world.

This week, I was reminded of that during one of the busiest (and most fun) days I’ve had in a while.

Here’s what I got to do:

  • 5:15 am: Wake up, microhabits, journaling, manifestations

  • 6:15 am: Hyrox class

  • 8:00 am: Walk the dogs

  • 10:00 am: Give a lesson

  • 11:30 am – 1:00 pm: Hit the fields for:

    • Conditioning (crushed it!)

    • 45 minutes of wall ball

  • 3:00 – 4:30 pm: Functional training with my dad (2” away from being able to do 48” plyo box jump)

  • 5:30 – 9:30 pm: Dinner with grandparents & cousin (Happy 18th, Jack! - he’s doing such amazing things in this world!)

  • 9:30 pm – 12:30 am: 3 hours of pickle ball (we won 5 games to 4 - after being down 3 games to 1)

Every single thing on that list?

I chose to see it as a gift, not an obligation.

Saying “I get to” instead of “I have to” shifts your mindset.

It turns routine into opportunity and effort into joy.

Action Step: Starting today, swap “I have to” for “I get to.”

You’ll be amazed at how much more fun—and meaningful—your days become.

If this resonates, post a TikTok or IG story sharing one thing you got to do today and how that mindset shift made a difference.

Tag me, and I’ll share it on my story.
