My First Zoom Guest

Building this platform has come with so many “firsts.” One of the most exciting is launching a bi-monthly Zoom series, where I’ll bring on special guests to share their insights on confidence, mindset, and purpose.

When I thought about who I wanted as my very first guest, the answer was clear: Coach Mindy McCord.

Coach McCord has had a profound impact on my life and development. She’s more than a coach — she’s a builder, a leader, and someone who inspires everyone around her to raise their standard. I’ve been blessed to learn from her at USF, and I know firsthand how much wisdom she has to offer.

The first session is on Habits That Build Champions. Coach McCord has a unique perspective because she has built four different types of programs — one club, one high school, and two colleges — all from scratch, and turned them into championship-caliber teams. That doesn’t happen by accident. It happens by teaching the right habits.

Here are just a few things we’ll dive into together:

  • The one habit she’s seen most positively impact her athletes

  • The habit young athletes most often struggle with

  • How to reset after falling off track

  • Why so many athletes overestimate motivation but underestimate routines

  • Three clear actions every young athlete can take right now to start becoming a champion

Coach McCord means so much to me, and I’m incredibly grateful she’s joining me for this first Zoom. This is just the start of an incredible series of conversations, and I can’t wait to share her perspective — and many others to come — with the Squad.
