Singing at Tampa Bay Rays Game
On Thursday, August 21, 2025, I was asked — and got to — sing the National Anthem at the Tampa Bay Rays game at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, in front of nearly 10,000 people. It was the largest stage I’ve ever sung on, and my mindset going in was one of gratitude. I reminded myself to enjoy the moment and appreciate how fortunate I was to have this opportunity.
But moments like this don’t come without hard work and resilience. Back in 6th or 7th grade, I posted a video of me singing, and a classmate spliced a part where I was off-key with a clip of someone intentionally singing poorly. It hurt. A lot. But I was reminded that failure would happen many more times — and that if I stuck with it, one day I’d accomplish my goals.
That day came on August 21st. After years of singing the anthem at high school events, USF sporting events — even at my own lacrosse game — I got to stand on one of the biggest stages of my life and do something I love.
📸 To celebrate the moment, I created a video splicing together me singing the anthem in 6th grade with my Rays performance. It’s proof of how far I’ve come, and how powerful it is to keep chasing your dreams. Watch here.
I share this because I want you to know: whatever you dream, you can accomplish. But you have to own it, you have to keep showing up now, and you have to live like you’ve already won.
OWN your dream. Act NOW. Believe you’ve already WON.
