USF COACHES.

The coaching staff at USF is second to none. They don’t just train athletes—they mentor, challenge, and inspire us to become better in every area of life.

Head Coach Mindy McCord

  • A winner and visionary leader, Coach McCord built this program from the ground up

  • From the moment I met her, she cared more about me as a person than a player

  • She’s created opportunities for me both on and off the field and continues to be one of my greatest mentors and role models

  • She coached at Jacksonville University when I was first being recruited, and I still remember her calling other coaches on my behalf

  • Her belief in me, leadership style, and commitment to developing strong women have shaped who I am today—on and off the field

Associate Head Coach Britt Orashen

  • My favorite recruiting story is when Coach Britt (then at JU) called to offer me and referred to me as a strong lefty attacker… I'm actually a righty, but it made me proud

  • She brings contagious energy to every practice and challenge

  • Whether mentoring players or trash-talking on the pickleball court, she’s the perfect mix of fire and fun

  • I couldn’t imagine anyone else hyping us up before a game or not being a part of my graduation day

Assistant Coach Paul “CP” McCord

  • CP and I have a bond that words can’t describe

  • He’s been one of my biggest advocates since early high school, always caring more about me as a person than just a player

  • While I know I annoy him sometimes, I’ve never once questioned his intent: he always wants me to be the best version of myself

  • He was the first coach who told me I could play Division I, and I still get to be coached by him now

  • So much of my growth and confidence started with his belief in me

Assistant Coach Vince

  • No matter what I need, he’s always there and willing to help

  • When I hit a slump last season, Vince never stopped believing in me and played a big role in helping me find my confidence again

  • His support, energy, and commitment to each of us never go unnoticed

  • I’m so excited for him as he continues to grow in his coaching career—he’s going to do big things

Big Jon (Director of Sports Performance)

  • Big Jon is the best strength coach in women’s college lacrosse

  • His quiet strength and calming presence make even the toughest lifts feel doable

  • Whether it’s early morning workouts or long rehab days, he always shows up with steady support and belief

  • He genuinely cares about us as people and athletes, and his commitment to our health, performance, and confidence is unmatched
